Global Recognition



The Kenson School of Production Technology has affiliations locally and internationally to bolster and support its thrust to deliver quality technical training and education to companies and students alike. 



The School was registered with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) on 23rd July 2009 as a post-secondary institution for the maximum period of three years and is legally authorized to offer a wide range of programmes to the industry and public. The School has since been re-registered for its third three-year period on 19th April 2016.

The Energy Institute (EI) is a professional body for the energy industry, developing and sharing knowledge, skills and good practice towards a safe, secure and sustainable energy system. The EI supports over 23,000 individuals working in or studying energy and 250 companies worldwide, providing learning and networking opportunities to support professional development, as well as professional recognition and technical and scientific knowledge resources on energy in all its forms and applications.

KSPT is a learning affiliate of the Energy Institute (EI). Some accreditation benefits include an independent quality assurance scheme, access to the resource library and a year's free affiliate membership for all KSPT delegates.

The following programs were approved by the Energy Institute following a site visit by a three member panel on 10th April 2014:

  • Level 4 Offshore Competency Assurance Qualification – Offshore Production Operator Training (OPOT)
  • Level 4 Land Based Competency Assurance Qualification – Land Based Production Operator Training (LBPOT)
  • Level 4 Competency Assurance Qualification – Natural Gas Technology Technician (NGTT)
  • Level 4 Competency Assurance Qualification - Compressed Natural Gas Installation Technician (CNGIT)


The Mission of the National Training Agency is to coordinate, harmonize, standardize, monitor and evaluate all Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Trinidad and Tobago through the establishment of the National TVET system.

The School was added to the NTATT's Registry of TVET Training Providers with effect from 30 November 2009. It has Registered Center Status with the National Training Agency (NTA) of Trinidad and Tobago.



City & Guilds is the UK’s leading provider of vocational qualifications, offering over 500 awards across a wide range of industries, and progressing from entry level to the highest levels of professional achievement. With over 8500 centres in 100 countries, City & Guilds is recognised by employers worldwide for providing qualifications that offer proof of the skills they need to get the job done. 

On 20 April 2010 the school was awarded Centre Approval status with City and Guilds International and was further approved to deliver the following programmes:

- International Vocational Qualifications (IVQ) Advanced Diplomas in Oil and Gas

  • Electrical Maintenance Technician 
  • Instrumentation Maintenance Technician
  • Mechanical Maintenance Technician
  • Process Technician

- Level 3 IVQ Advanced Diploma in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning

- Level 3 IVQ Specialist Advanced Diploma in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning



The School received its ILM registered Centre Status in July 2013. This accreditation initially allows the school to provide the following qualifications from ILM:

  • Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills
  • Level 2 Certificate in Leadership and Team Skills

National Safety Council

The National Safety Council (NSC) is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit, non-governmental public service organization promoting health and safety. The group focuses on areas where the greatest number of preventable injuries and deaths occur, including workplace safety, prescription medication abuse, teen driving, cell phone use while driving and safety in homes and communities.

We're happy to have our Defensive Driving courses certified by the National Security Council.



The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit professional organization whose mission is to collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources and related technologies for the public benefit and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.

SPE provides a worldwide forum for oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P) professionals for the exchange of technical knowledge and a professional home for more than 165,000 engineers, scientists, managers, and educators. SPE's technical library contains more than 200,000 technical papers — products of SPE conferences and periodicals, made available to the entire industry. SPE has offices in Dallas, Houston, Calgary, London, Dubai, Moscow and Kuala Lumpur.

The school received approval from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) as a Student Chapter in February 2011.
